I have German class on Monday and Tuesday mornings this semester, which really is not enough.
I am very frustrated with the grammar and feel like the teachers are never willing to slow down to make sure we learn anything. And I am not the only one in my class who doesn't understand it.
I am at a disadvantage because I am rarely put in situations where I speak German. Mike and I speak English together because I cannot say anything meaningful in German, so the conversation would be pretty limited. We try, sometimes, but it doesn't get far. And classes that might be better cost money!
Anyways...tonight Mike and I are going to play volleyball for the first time with a group he found online. I am a little nervous because I hate playing sports with people who take themselves too seriously. I just like to play for fun. So let's hope this group is relaxed!
Update on the wisdom teeth: I talked my surgeon into doing it all at once, and with a shot that will make me very sleepy, but not unconscious. Still nervous, but I will be so relieved when it is over and done (for free!).
I got three more postcards in the mail. Sweet....
Yosemite is a national park in California, and a World Heritage Site. It is known for its granite cliffs, waterfalls, streams, and Giant Sequoias. Despite having lived in California for eleven years, I have never been there.
Athens is the capital of Greece and one of the world's oldest cities. I would definitely like to go here sometime
This is a state in Germany. I have actually been to the castle in Gotha, which is seen in the lower left of the postcard. That is where Mike was born (not the castle, the town). Here is the photo I took, which is almost identical:
